Bulletproof Dreams

This "timeless collective" is not for the 'in one ear & out the other' crowd.
It isn't for the lazy.
It isn't for the complainers.
It isn't for the 'life is just passing me by'ers.

Bulletproof Dreams is for the lovers of beats
& the lovers of Hip Hop.
It is for the doers.
For the 'take action' crowd.
For the ones that research & seek the truth.
For the ones that aren't afraid of the consequences from Victory of making others aware.
It is for the ones that proudly feel, endorse vulnerability, all while forcing change to happen through unity.

Black Power
'we are black. & we are beautiful'
Powerful words from Kwame Toure resonate with me, though I am not visibly black. [Know (y)our history.]
Black people need to come together. I need to see this in my lifetime. I wouldn't feel excluded for I would join/support & expect brown people to link as well.

Moor
'i been searchin' for, a throne that i will never know'
Mansa collaborates with John Henrik Clarke with tenacity. The desire of wanting more from the hard labor you exude. All of your hard work as a black people means nothing in this society. Be awakened & come together as a supportive unit. Everything you've been taught is meant to be questioned.

Young Malcolm's
'why stop now'
Protect the black woman. Always. & forever. Be courageous when it comes to striving to make a difference. We can do it. WE. Yes, we. Thank you, Malcolm X. Thank you, Sandra Bland.

Elite
'no sleep. if you want it, like i want it'
know yourself. Know Yourself. KNOW YOURSELF. You have got to know what you are capable of. You must know what you are able to give back. Be strong in the way you live your life so you may be in a position to reawaken the rest.

Bulletproof Dreams
'may yo heart beat a little bit harder, 'cause these streets there are a little bit colder'
Understanding that black brothers & sisters want more because many of their efforts go by very much noticed & backs continue to be turned on them. You cannot assume the right to criticize without having the patience to teach. Most importantly, to open your mind (to learn). Thank you, Prof. X. Thank you, Queen Midas.

Human Resources
'there's no black person on the face of the earth that can say with certainty that we know that our child will have a future' - Omali Yeshitela.
Living in a world where the oppression against black people couldn't be any more obvious pains me. I still can't ever fathom what it would be like to be black in Amerikkka. But I am well aware of what continues to go on & why. Because of that, I will force anyone to acknowledge these injustices in order for us all to build a new system.

Liberation
'ahead of my time that i'm gone'
The yearning of just being able to LIVE in this world as a black person.  Sigh.

Stronger Than Words
'jus tryna get free, but don't know what to do'
Feelings come alive through Mansa's flow & it transcends distance. No matter where you are in the world, there is a connection that you have felt or have yet to feel with another &/or something else that makes you do more for yourself & your people that you were unaware lay dormant. Time is now to take action. Thank you, Angela Davis.

POW's
'we cannot rely on white news media to convey black revolutionary messages' -Imam Jamil Al-Amin aka H. Rap Brown.
Thank You, Mansa Obi.
