It Hit Me

It's always when I least expect it that I'm reminded of how much pain I carry on the daily. There's a reason I hold onto a few people. Even if they've damaged me to an irreparable state. There are so many issues I have yet to conquer. & that pains me. Much too deep. Doesn't matter how positive you are, how free you are, how high you fly. Pain will catch up if you refuse to acknowledge it.

It caught (up to) me tonight.

& the echoes of the things I heard tonight remain inside my head.
