"It's a hard job."

I met this woman at the potluck (see previous entry) & talked a lot with her about different cities, cultures, children & occupations. She's in the Navy & asked if I, too was on active duty. I asked her if I looked like I was in the military & we both laughed. She was just asking she said. & so I told her,

"I'm just a waitress."

"You're not just a waitress. You're A waitress. It's a hard job!"

& that put a lot into perspective in how I see the job I have & how I feel about it.
